You know what's missing from Hip Hop? An artist who understands what the true 'heads' need. A Chicago native, lyrical lothario, and graffiti artist, Doc Mananoff addresses all topics relative to true Hip Hop, whether it's B Boy braggadocio or all things of a carnal nature for the ladies, Doc brings it all!

Having been heavily influenced by New York's pioneering emcees as well as Chicago's Hip Hop pioneers; JMD, DA Smart and many others, those influences (coupled with his mixed African American/Puerto Rican background) helped him to mold his own style which stands out from the average rappers making music today.

Little known trivia about Doc is that he has the ability and vision to recognize talent as he introduced the demo tape of a then young, unknown Kanye West to producers Dug Inf and NO ID in 1992 which helped Kanye to break into the music industry.

Under the moniker “Papa Doc”, he was featured on the the Three Stripe Posse's 'Look what the wind blew in' compilation album in 1996, The Papa Doc 'Feel the Fire' Ep in 1999 and Breaking Bad Entertainment Compilation CD “ This Thing of Ours” in 2002 and 'The Underdog' Ep by Chicago Producer RiotOne of Sound Scandal Music Group in 2017 as well as a string of single releases in the interim.

Doc Mananoff has only performed locally in the Chicagoland area and Puerto Rico but has music that spans the globe as some of his songs are known and loved in various countries like England, France, Germany, as well as Brazil. He's rocked mics with Local talent as well as nationally and internationally known artists as well e.g, Souls of Mischief, Flava Flav, and Fat Joe, to name a few. Not to mention he was mentored by the legendary Funk lord George Clinton of Parliament/Funkadelic who has been a friend and describes Doc as “ A hell of a lyricist”.

Doc Mananoff's unorthodox, "Over the average head" style as well as his penchant for X-rated topics has prevented him from reaching the mainstream level but he's still remains a lyricist to keep an ear open for!
